February 20th - Professional Development Workshop for Artists
"Professional Development for Artists" Workshop - different from our usual workshops but SO VERY IMPORTANT! This is a great opportunity for all arts & crafts people. Joan Irvin is an excellent instructor and will go over many of the things we sometimes overlook. Topics will include: Developing your Artist Portfolio (Artist bio, Artist Statement, Artist, CV, Professional Images (traditional and digital). Having your work ready, Presentation, Shipping and Insurance, Dealing with and applying to galleries, Contracts, Commissions and consignments. There will also be a section on critiquing that will include Art Terminology and Self and Group critiquing.
Everyone/anyone can benefit from this workshop and you can't beat the $45 registration fee. Our thanks to Industry, Tourism & Investment and Northwestern Air for their support.
February 19th - Artist Talk with Joan Irvin
Joan Irvin, who is in town to run the Professional Development Workshop for Artists, has graciously offered to do an artist talk as well. She is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, writer and curator. Her jewellery and small-scale mixed media works have been exhibited nationally, in the U.S., Europe and Asia. She is very interesting and a wonderful instructor.
It will be an interesting and different way to spend a Friday night so please, come and join us.
